How Does Global Warming Work to Fulfill Bible Prophecy on Earth’s Extinction?

What is Global Warming?

Global warming can simply be defined as the earth getting warm and warmer every second. In other words, the temperature of the earth’s surface, oceans and atmosphere going up over ten to thousands of year.

These global temperature changes occur at very tiny fractions each day but their effects are very evident. One effect of temperature change that can be physically seen is the melting of ice caps all around the world, for example, the Greenland ices which melt into the sea causing the sea level to rise.

How does Global Warming Work?

The constant increase in global temperature occurs as a result of unsustainable human activities on the earth. This has in recent years brought about drastic climatic changes in the mother earth.

The science experts see the trend of the global average temperature increasing at a very fastest rate recorded in the history of the earth over the past years.

However, the concern is the trend is accelerating at an alarming rate.

How does global warming work?

Global warming occurs when Carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants and greenhouse gasses collects in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface.

Normally, these radiations would escape into space, but these pollutants, which can last for years to centuries in the atmosphere, trap the heat and cause the planet to get hotter.

Scientists agree that the earth’s rising temperatures are fueling longer and hotter waves, more frequent droughts, heavier rainfall, and more powerful hurricanes. Hence, the impacts of global warming are being felt across the globe and the extreme heat waves have caused tens of thousands of death around the world in recent years.

The environmental, economic and health consequences are likely to occur if the current trends continue. The biggest polluters of the environment are the coal-burning power plants and the transportation sector and since the third world countries are still rapidly evolving in terms of development, curbing global warming is becoming a hard goal to achieve.

Thus, the earth grows older and older and sooner than expected her Maker will have to “fold her garments and change her.”

How does Global Warming Work to Fulfill Bible Prophecy?

In my humble opinion as a Christian believer, I believe everything that happens under the sun will always be confined to the will of God in the Holy Book. In other words, nothing will ever happen on the earth that was not foretold by the messengers of God, the holy prophets.

According to the Bible, this earth that we love so dearly was not created to last forever. As the living things dwelling on the earth die, the earth will also grow old and one day also die.

The effects of global warming are thus, a fulfillment of various prophecies in the Bible that state the earth will grow old and become extinct.

Isaiah 51:6.“Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like a smoke, the earth will grow old like a garment, and those who dwell in it will die in like manner; but My Salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will not be abolished.”

It’s very sobering to note that the earth is growing old at a very rapid rate. It’s hard to believe that the earth once had the Garden of Eden (the paradise on earth) when she was young and beautiful after her creation.

Thousands of years have passed since her creation and she has survived very tough conditions (some of which made living species extinct to date) such as the historical Noah’s flooding, the Sodom and Gomorrah fire and brimstone, and the asteroids that made dinosaurs extinct.

With the many stretchy years she has survived, she has grown old and lost some of her splendid beauty. The earth has survived natural events which were beyond man’s control. Global warming, however, is as a result of mankind physical activities which can be controlled.

Mankind should have sympathized with earth’s condition but instead, his activities also hasten the earth’s extinction through environmental pollution. Because of this, mankind will also die.

How does Global Warming Work to Hasten Earth’s Extinction?

The earth’s extinction began many years ago when man was cursed because of disobedience in the Garden of Eden. Both man and all living things on the surface of the earth had to die. The earth also will have to die as a result of man’s disobedience in Genesis chapter 1. Remember, it is God who holds the earth in order and it is His nature to use man to accomplish His desired eternal purpose or will.

In the Bible book of Revelation, the Apostle John saw a new heaven and a new earth which had neither sun nor moon for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. (Revelation 21:1).

The earth will one day die and the effects of global warming are just ingredients that hasten the earth’s extinction through the sudden increase of deaths of living things on the earth.

Man, animals, sea creatures, and plants are all terribly affected by the effects of global warming and die. The rising sea levels caused by melting ices will lead to coastal flooding.

Forests, farms, and cities will face new pests beyond control, heat waves, heavy downpours, disruption of habitats such as coral reefs and alpine meadows could drive away plant and animal species to extinction.

Allergies, asthma, and infectious diseases will become common due to increased growth of pollen producing ragweed, higher levels of air pollution, and the spread of conditions favorable to pathogens and mosquitoes.

How Global Warming Works to Fulfill Bible Prophecy Through Floods?

“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,” Luke 21:25

The resulting climate change which occurs due to how global warming works heavily impacts the way water moves around the world. According to various researches, “land currently home to 300 million people will fall below the elevation of an average annual coastal flood” by 2050 as a result of rising sea levels caused by global warming.

As human activities increases the global temperatures, more and more water will evaporate into our atmosphere. This result in more intense precipitation and more intense storms resulting to flooding that bring deaths and diseases caused by exposure to water-borne illnesses, infection, and dangerous chemicals to both man and animals.

Floods can greatly impact the economic stability of any nation as floods often erode everything planted in the land by farmers, thus causing drought. This leads to dependency humanitarian aid, famines, and deaths of both mankind and animals.

Although the effects of floods as a result of how global warming works affect all countries, those living in poverty are the hardest hit by climate change despite being the least responsible for the crisis. In the horn of Africa, severe droughts in 2011, 2017, and 2019 have repeatedly wiped out crops and livestock, leaving millions of people in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia in need of aid which is not enough.

Millions of people are left with acute food and water shortages and many die.The floods impacts the earth as she keeps on growing old due to the continuous erosions that rip her of beauty and splendor, thus fulfilling the Bible prophecy.

How does Global Warming Work to Cause the Death of the Earth?

Global warming is one way of pushing the earth closer to her extinction. However, there are many references in the Bible that shows the earth will become extinct. Most of the following verses can be scientifically proven as ways the earth will one day become extinct or die.

We may not know if these also occur as a result of how global warming works; but it’s high time we reconsider the activities that negatively impact our mother earth.

In the Bible book of Revelation 8:Verse 7:

“The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire followed mixed with blood, and was thrown to the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.”

Verse 8-9:

“something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.”

Verse 10-11:

“And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.”

In chapter 9 we see the sun and air being darkened because of the smoke of the bottomless pit. Locusts, which were given the power of the scorpions, came from the smoke and were given authority to torment the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads and not to kill them.

In verse 15, the four angels bound at the great river Euphrates are released to kill a third of mankind.

In Revelation 16, other painful and terrible plagues follow and in verse 20,

“every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.”

It is very critical to note that although all this plagues will be aimed at the ungodly and disobedient men living in the earth at that time, the earth which hosts those men will also feel the heavy wrath of God and will stagger like a drunkard, the blows being heavy, she will also die and give up/surrender the dead in the sea and in the dust of the earth to be judged according to their works. (Revelation 20:11-15)

Isaiah 24:19-20

“The earth is violently broken, the earth is split open, and the earth is shaken exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall totter like a hut; its transgression shall be heavy upon it, and it will fall, and not rise again,”

However, it is a very sobering and hopeful thought to note that: God will then create a new heaven and a new earth which has no sea, sun nor moon. (Revelation 21:1-27).

With no fear of contradiction, just know that JESUS IS THE WAY TO THIS GLORIOUS AND ETERNAL HOME. (JOHN 14:6.)
